National Capital Craft Beer
After a successful event in 2008, the beer
fest is back and better than before. With
more than 17 craft breweries showcasing
up to 80 beers you will be spoilt for
choice. There will be local gourmet food
stores, including the likes of Poachers
Pantry, and lots of giveaways. Live
entertainment is sure to thrill with
Mental as Anything performing on the
Saturday and Casual Projects on the
Enjoy the Crafter Chef Competition,
when local chefs will battle it out mixing
fine food with craft beer. Tickets include
a tasting glass and 10 tasting tickets.

Capital culinary delights
Canberra will come alive this spring with festivals and expos dedicated to
celebrating good food and fine wine.
Oktoberfest is a big event in the
Canberra calendar. The tradition
goes back 200 years, when it started
in Munich, Germany in 1810. The
Harmonie German Club will celebrate
the social highlight at Exhibition Park
with the true 'Oktoberfest band', the
Masters, playing all three days.
There will be entertainment with
slap dancing, Legs Dance Studio and
the dirndl competition. The opening
ceremony on Saturday at 4pm is a
fantastic experience not to be missed.
There will be German Beer on tap and
sausages, schnitzels, potato pancakes,
and pigs on the spit with sauerkraut.
Sunday is a Family Day with face
painting and a jumping castle.

Savour is setting the stage for an epic
and delicious event. Canberra's National
Convention Centre will overflow with
more than 70 exhibitors showcasing the
finest beer, wine, spirits and food.
Just when your mouth is watering,
pop into the Food & Wine Marquee
to enjoy five restaurants in one. Some
of Canberra's finest chefs will be
brought together to create one meal
each to complement a certain wine.
For $15 you can select the food/wine
combo that tickles your fancy.
Go along and join industry leading
wine, beer and food experts for tastings
and gourmet treats.
