of wine or a hearty beer, you are lucky the
Pork Barrel has plenty of both.
The daily blackboard changes regularly
and is full of delicious dishes to please
the palate. The Pork Barrel specialty has
to be the wide range of gourmet pizzas
with sizes perfect for one or many. The
deli pizza is topped with spinach, roasted
pumpkin, Spanish onion, feta and olives
and on Pork Barrel's light, fluffy pizza
dough it is a delight to saver. Perfect for
spring, the restaurant has a variety of salad
options including a Thai-style beef salad in
a tortilla bowl, which is refreshing and zesty.
The spicy chorizo risotto in a
Nepolitana sauce is full of flavour and is
ideal if by some small chance the weather
is a little chilly.
Once you have eaten and drunk your
fill you can make your way over the
Commonwealth Park and enjoy the
sights and sounds of Floriade. One of
Canberra's most iconic events, Floriade
will rejuvenate visitors with its Mind,
Body and Soul theme. While you may
have been to past events, there is nothing
quite like Floriade NightFest.
Making use of its
prime location, Pork
Barrel lets in rays of
natural sunlight from
all sides in its pergola-
style al fresco set-up.
After a hugely successful debut in 2008,
NightFest will heat up the Canberra
evenings with five spectacular nights of
live entertainment, music, feature films,
food and wine, markets, and a special
children's section. Take along your picnic
basket and enjoy a night out with your
family and friends at the outdoor cinema
in the park with a diverse selection of
feature films. On the giant inflatable
screen you can see Twilight, Earth,
Hairspray, The Devil Wears Prada and
By the lake you can let your hair down,
relax and celebrate the end of an eventful
spring day in the nation's capital.
