RELAX: The refreshing waters of Canberra's lakes entice young and old to cool off and unwind.
Canoe and Kayak Adventures
Spend a cruisy summer's day in a canoe
or kayak and see the nation's capital in a
whole new light. Tours are available for a
myriad of adventures; it's just up to you to
make sure you fit them all in this season.
Departs at 2pm from Wednesday to
Sunday. Immerse yourself in nature as you
experience the two-three hour wetlands
tour. Departing from Commonwealth
Place, paddle east towards the new
Kingston Foreshore development. You'll
skirt around the new Kingston Harbour
before heading into the wetland area
--- peaceful, narrow and full of bird life.
The best way to explore this part of the
lake is from the silence of your kayak.
Pialligo Winery Tour
Departs Wednesday and Saturday at 9am.
Spend two leisurely hours paddling across
Lake Burley Griffin and up the Molonglo
River to picturesque Pialligo. Experience
the city's cultural buildings in the central
basin before it merges with the nature and
beauty of the Molonglo River. Spot the
birds nesting along the edge of the river.
Arriving at your destination, wander
through the olive groves and grapevines at
the Pialligo Winery.
All tours depart from Commonwealth
Place on the southern side of Lake Burley
Griffin, near the flags.
