50km track and the 100km 'Enduro' to
accommodate a wide range of participants
of all ages and fitness levels.
Previously dismissed as a niche sport
for fitness fanatics, in recent times the
activity has enjoyed mounting popularity
as more demographics discover the joys
and benefits involved. With the growing
number of Enduro (100km) races around
Australia generally booking out 1000
to 2000 riders within a matter of days,
mountain biking is now well established
as a mainstream activity.
Capital Punishment is expected to
attract about 1500 participants of all
shapes and sizes, both intra and inter-
state. With a mix of elite mountain bike
riders and 'weekend warriors' out to
challenge themselves, people anywhere
from 16 to 70 years usually participate,
with the average age being between 30
and 40 years.
