EARLY in the year many peo-
ple feel refreshed after a sum-
mer holiday and, having had
time to contemplate, feel enthu-
sed about developing a new skill
or hobby or are motivated to
pursue a change in the direction
of their career.
There are many avenues for
self development in Canberra
and the former convent in
Queanbeyan is no exception.
Benedict House has been a
place of education for many
generations and the building
itself provides a monastic, rest-
ful, ambience that is perfect for
French chef Christophe

ary 22. He will also be cooking a
three course meal for the guests.
In April, Stefano di Pieri will

and discussing food issues and
Kate Shelton has had more
than 30 years involvement in
education at all levels, based on
a philosophy that people are
happiest when they have devel-
oped their full potential. She and
her brother Matthew Shelton
have combined their accumulat-
ed skills and knowledge to put
together some interesting work-
shops suitable for Benedict
Mr Shelton will lead work-
shops in hospitality, where he
brings vast experience from the
United States. Ms Shelton will
conduct basic gardening te-
chniques (in her garden), jewel-
lery making and cooking. The

for single people who may want
to develop their culinary skills
and socialise at the same time.
