Most of us have, at some point in ours lives, experienced a pinnacle
If you haven't, the beginning of the year is a fantastic time to start
and if you have, it's the perfect time to try and recapture that feeling
of being at your very best.
The trouble is, many of us have conditioned our bodies to adapt to
busy work schedules (read: no time to exercise).
Add the holiday excess to that and it becomes very difficult to kick
start a new lifestyle.
However, Canberra is not short of ways to motivate you and pave
the way for good health and wellbeing.
To begin with, make sure you set yourself a short term goal, with no
expectation that it will lead to anything long-term. Being able to see
the light at the end of the tunnel is motivation in itself.
Treating yourself to some new equipment, like dumbbells or some
sporty new clothing can also encourage you to make a move.
If you quite enjoy exercise but find the tricky part literally making
yourself start, make exercise dates with friends. Not only will
you have company to make the exercise enjoyable, but it's a
commitment you are obligated to stick to.
Bootcamp is another excellent option, especially for those who find
themselves flailing not long into an exercise session. Trainers can
guide you not only in methods of maximising the benefits of your
exercising but maintaining a steady level of commitment throughout
If you join classes, it's a great idea to join in blocks. Pay for an
amount of sessions and that way, your expenditure will motivate
