Lifestyle attracts our new citizen
Queanbeyan local Alida Lombard, with husband Mark Edwards, will officially become an Australian citizen tomorrow evening.

QUEANBEYAN resident Alida
Lombard will officially be welcomed
as one of the region's newest citizens
The South African native said she
was ''really excited'' about becoming
an Australian citizen at Queanbeyan
''I love the Australian way of life,
the enthusiasm, the pride, they're
wearing their flag,'' Dr Lombard said.
''It's such a good way of life and
you feel safe.''
Dr Lombard, an anesthesia registrar
at Calvary Hospital, has lived in the
region for three years with her hus-
band, Mark Edwards.
''We really like Queanbeyan and the
Canberra area,'' Dr Lombard said. She
said they planned to stay in the region
for the next few years.

''It was a bit of getting used to,'' Dr
Lombard said. Her family moved to
Vancouver a year after she came to
Australia to commence her studies.

being able to vote, as she followed
