exhibitions that are on right now, and the many festivals
taking place around the region.
Examples in nearby NSW include the Crookwell Potato
festival to the north, the Batlow Ciderfest to the west, and
the Bungendore Har vest Festival to the east.
Many established venues in the ACT are also
celebrating special occasions with events or exhibitions
themed around them. For instance, the National Dinosaur
Museum in Nicholls is celebrating their 25th birthday in
April, and the National Library of Australia, Canberr a, is
marking the 50th anniversary of their current building.
You can read more about both of those celebr ations in
this issue of See Canberra.
Of course there’s also a great many things you can see or
do any time that it suits you, such as visiting the National
Zoo and Aquarium, the Royal Australian Mint, the National
Archives of Australia, the Australian National Botanic
Gardens, or the CSIRO Discovery Centre just to name a few.
You can even hire a suitable bicycle and explore interesting
parts around our nation’s capital that way.
Also, if you’re only going to be around here for a
short time, or wondering what to do with yourself on
a particular weekend this autumn, have a look through
the events calendar near the middle of this publication for
some more ideas that will interest you.
